Lights at Temple Square

We have tried 3 times before Christmas to see the lights at Temple Square and have never been able to make it. It is one of my favorite things to do each year. Chad is not one for cold or crowds especially with the kids so little. But Preston loves the Christus and asks to go there. So yesterday my brother called to see if we wanted to go. I jumped at the chance. Chad was not feeling well and Colton had just fell asleep so I took Preston and Karleigh. We had a really good time. Preston loved it all and even Karleigh seemed to enjoy herself.

Camping?

I thought this was so cute. The other day the kids were pretending to be camping in the family room. Even little Karleigh!

Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas. It was a lot of fun. All the kids were into it this year. Christmas Eve we told the kids that we needed to get to bed so Santa could come and Preston kept saying mom I can't close my eyes I keep thinking about Santa. I kept telling him it was okay he would get tired. Then I prayed he would get tired soon because I was falling asleep and how would that be if I couldn't let Santa in and there was nothing in the morning? Colton was so excited that he even went to sleep with out the "meme" (binki) That was a miracle. The boys woke up in the morning and wanted to go open presents we told them they could get their stockings but had to wait for Karleigh to wake up to do presents. She just kept sleeping so we finally let them open them.

Here are the favs.

Preston: Squawker McCaw from Nana! Also my favorite. The thing is pretty neat!

Colton: Huge truck and trailer with four wheeler from santa

Karleigh: Tea Set from Santa and all her babies.

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and felt as blessed as we did this year.

Great News

I have to share I finally finally finally got a picture of my kids. I have tried since Karleigh was born and even when Colton was born I tried to get a ;picture of Preston and Colton together except Preston has never wanted anything to do with them. I could never go to a studio because he would run screaming away he was terrified of the studios. He acted like it was a torture chamber. But today he was all for it. Karleigh was happy at first when we got there except they made us wait half and hour and by that point she wanted to go. But they still turned out really cute. I will be sending out cards and I am so excited for them this year. I wasn't going to do it this year but I have to share the cute pics.!

Got Webkinz?

Okay it is now 12:04a.m. Yes that is A.M. I have been playing stupid webkinz games since about 9:30pm I know I am addicted. I get sucked in to these pathetic little games. The problem is that Some loving family gave Preston 2 webkinz for his birthday. ( Thank you very much guys!) see he can not read yet so most the time I have to sit with him. Well he can't really play the games either to earn money to buy things for his loving pets. So what does that leave; me his loving mother playing the games earning money for him to buy things. Then I sit here and help him learn the concept of money by showing him the things he wants to buy cost too much and sends me the loving mother back to the games to earn more money. I have to hand it to the creators of this wonderful game. It does teach the youngens some great concepts. I just really wish Preston didn't get into this until he was about 8. Then maybe I wouldn't be sitting up all night playing to earn money. On the other hand I probably would have got sucked in anyway and ended up in the same place after midnight playing away. Please I need HELP!!!!

For Preston's Birthday we had a Buildabear birthday party. Here is Karleigh giving her sassy Kitty a bath. She was way more interested in to it all than I thought. She kept brushing it and brushing it. I had to fight her to get down. We had a lot of fun.

Preston's Birthday

On the 10th Preston turned 5! Wow 5 years. He is really growing up to be a independent one! He has always known what he wants right from the start. As an infant he was stubborn and strong willed and those traits are stll dominant today. though His sweetness and love for everyone is a wonderful balance. He loves to do things on his own but on his own terms. I couldn't ask for a better big brother for his little brother and little sister; oh they love him so. Happy Birthday Preston WE LOVE YOU!

I tried to post pictures from age 1-5 it was not working so here is I think 2-4 Oh well.

Palm Springs

Well I had a great time in Palm Springs with Chad. It was so fun to meet new people and make some good friends. I was all worried about nothing. There was a lady we sat with at dinner monday night and her husband she asked us why we were not drinking. I told her that we don't drink. She left it at that. Than last night Chad went to dinner with a bunch of people ( I left that morning) and he sat by her. She said it is killing me I have to ask; " are you Mormon" He said yes. She said wow my favorite show is Big Love how many wives do you have. He couldn't stop laughing. He had to explain that the show is totally wrong. I guess he totally bursted her bubble because she loves and even referred to herself as a Big Love junkie! She was very disappointed.
I have never seen the show so I am not sure what it is all about. All I know it has to do with polygamy. Anyway. Chad said she was so funny. He almost fell off his chair laughing so hard at the things she would say.
It was really interesting. I am very sheltered and like it that way. So while we were there Chad and I were blown away by the amount of drinking. There were 500 people and Chad and I and a few others were the only ones without a drink. So It was really funny to watch everyone. It takes attending these events to realize that we are the different ones. I am surrounded by members of the church and it was the same way growing up So it is hard to see what it really is like other places. Needless to say it was a really good time. We enjoyed the relaxation time and time spent together.

I leave for Palm Springs on Sunday. I am very excited but I am very nervous. I don't know what has happened to me over the years but I have turned into a social recluse. I don't get out much and when I do it is with my kids. Some say it is the price we pay for staying home with the youngens. I wouldn't give it up for the world but I now have to re learn how to act among adults! And to my husbands expense. Honey I am so sorry! On top of it all I have Bronchitis. I have never had Bronchitis before let alone lost my voice caused by anything. I tried in High School once to scream at a concert so much I would have thought for sure I would wake up with my voice hoarse. No such luck. I am one that loves to talk and God has never blessed those around me with one day of silence! Except now. So off to Palm Springs I go. No kids and no voice! Wow complete silence! What shall I do?

Last week I took the two little ones for a walk down Lagoon Trail (one of their favs) And the Bull Elk came right up to the fence it was really cool. He never gets close but it was a real treat that the kids loved! I will post pictures later!
