Children as our teachers!.....

I don't think I say it enough! I love these kids! Each one brings such a different spirit into our home! The other day Preston came and laid on my lap while watching T.V. I looked down at him and realized just how big he is getting. He is so independent I forget that he is only 6 and feel at times that he gets forgotten. It is moments like this that open my heart and remind me that he is still so young. He is such the protector of his brother and sister. He truly holds our family together.
For Christmas Preston really wanted his own room. We live in my Sister-inlaws basement and so there is no extra room for him to have his own. He decided he wanted the room Chad and I were in as his and Colton's room so we decided that would be alright so we were moving furniture. The boys have bunk beds as we were moving them I dropped the bed on my toe. I screamed!!! It hurt sooo bad. I was in a bad mood already so when it happened I think it was a the doorway for me to just let out all the anger that was inside. I went into the other room just crying and yelled for everyone to leave me alone. After a few minutes the door opens and in comes my sweet Preston. He just put his arm around me and laid his head on my shoulder as I cried I was thinking to pull myself together I didn't want him to see me this way but then the spirit quieted my mind and said just let him be your comfort. Preston never said anything he just stayed with me. A moment later he left and returned with a bag of ice. I never asked for anything he just did it for me. It is moments like this that sometimes our teachers are our Children.
Funny story about Colton he is definatly here to bring joy and laughter to life. The other day my sister-inlaw was watching mykids for me while she had them she received some bad news about her father. He is sick and is going to have to go through Chemo and she was crying and talking about how he was going to lose all his hair. well Colton went over to her and said " it's okay, cause when I was little kid I got really sick and lost my hair . I just got some super glue and put it back on" Everyone just couldn't help but laugh!
Colton is always saying " when I was a litttle kid" whenever he talks about anything. I think it is so funny he thinks that he is sooo grown up.
Karleigh is just the friendliest little bean. Whenever we are at the store she has to say hi to everyone and tell everyone "nae new" Which is her way of saying Thank you" She says it over and over and most people don't know what she is saying But some do get it and tell her she's welcome. She teaches me to look at people and smile and To always be kind!
I am so thankful for my little teachers and all that they bring into my life!
